本資料は東急文化会館の設計を担当した坂倉準三が、坂倉の師であるル・コルビュジエに原画の制作を依頼し製作され、1956年の東急文化会館開館以降、同映画館にて垂下使用されていたが、2003年の東急文化会館の閉館に伴い取り外された。所有者は、発注から一貫して東京急行電鉄株式会社。

本資料は建築家坂倉準三が、師であるコルビュジエに原画の制作を依頼し、「闘牛14号」と題する原画作品をもとに川島織物合資会社（現：株式会社川島織物セルコン）が西陣織の技術を用いて製作したもの。
