1944年、逓信省営繕課を退職。
1946年、日本大学教授に就任。
1949年、闘病のため、日本大学を退職。
1956年9月8日、死去（62歳）

吉田鉄郎によるドイツ語の著作〝Das Japanische Wohnhaus"（第2版）、〝Japanische Architektur"〝Der Japanische Garten"の原稿とそれに関する指示書で、出版したドイツのヴァスムート社に保管されていたものである。所有者及び管理者は、ヴァスムート氏個人であった。
2018年8月に、ヴァスムート社の閉鎖に伴う資料消失の危惧に関する情報が伝えられ、資料館に受入れが打診された。

本資料群は、吉田鉄郎によるドイツ語の著作〝Das Japanische Wohnhaus"（第2版）、〝Japanische Architektur"、〝Der Japanische Garten"に関する原稿やスケッチ・指示書で、吉田鉄郎が逝去直前の1956年までに作成し、ドイツのヴァスムート社に送付したものを、ヴァスムート社が保管していたものである。
原稿(写真、図）、吉田によるページレイアウトや指示したスケッチなどからなる。
吉田による日本の住宅や建築への理解を示す貴重な資料である。
