本資料群は、渡辺仁の建築活動を断片的に伝えるものだが、渡辺が熊本の第五高等学校第二部に入学する前後（
1904年頃）から欧米視察に行く1926年頃までのスケッチ帳、東京帝国大学工科大学建築学科在学中の設計課題、大正末の洋行時に書かれた書簡、昭和初期までの建築作品に関する写真アルバム、戦後、1953年に渡辺高木建築事務所を設立し、1967年に黄綬褒章が授与されるころまでの図面、文書資料等から構成されている。
